Electronia is a leading provider of choice for highly advanced wired/wireless broadband communications systems, VSAT systems, sophisticated trunking and switching technologies, secure smart card solutions based in the Kingdom of Bahrain. As the company continues to expand abroad and across different market spectrums, it has identified Africa as the next frontier for investment in data centres. Electronia has appointed Advantech as the company of choice to develop a business plan for its entry into Kenya and Tanzania markets. The company intends to enter the West African market as well.

As part of the project on capacity development for customs administration in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, Advantech consulting was subcontracted by JICA to assist in the development of a Real Time Monitoring System (RTMS) and a Cargo Control System( CCS) integrated to ASYCUDA ++ and SIMBA. The RTMS and CCS will facilitate One Stop Border Post (OSBP) operations for the three countries.

Advantech was contracted by Siemens Enterprise Communication to review existing ERP fit to their organisation needs and to assist in selecting an appropriate ERP for the business in Kenya.

Nation Media Group is the largest media company in East and Central Africa. As part of modernization of its project, Nation is reviewing its current IT systems. Advantech was part of a consortium that is developing an IT strategy covering financial, procurement and sales and distributions functions.

For KCB, Advantech has provided resources as part of a bigger team of consultants to carry out business processes review with a view to streamlining business processes. Advantech has provide training in ITIL processes and the scope of the assignment is expected to extend to review of internal IT processes with a view of implementing ITIL.

Advantech was contracted by USAID/REDSO to work with the COMESA Secretariat in Lusaka to develop and implement a knowledge management solution. As part of this assignment Advantech undertook an Information Technology Management review to ensure alignment of technology to business.
